ProGreenPac manufactures paper and PP ice cream tubs in multiple sizes, with custom printing and matching lid options for retail, foodservice and frozen dessert production.
ProGreenPack manufactures custom ice cream tubs as part of our broader ice cream packaging range for ice cream brands, food producers and packaging distributors, covering paper and PP tubs, matching lids, custom printing and OEM production. PE, PLA and water-based coating options help paper tubs resist moisture, softening and deformation during frozen storage. Controlled tub forming, rim dimensions and lid matching improve sealing and stacking consistency, while stable printing helps keep colors and branding consistent across multiple flavors and repeat orders.

Ice cream packaging has plenty of room to communicate flavor, positioning and brand identity. ProGreenPack supports full-color artwork with controlled color matching, accurate print registration and even ink coverage to keep logos, text and graphics clear and consistent. Pantone color matching helps maintain brand colors across different flavors and repeat orders, while multiple designs can be coordinated as one packaging range for a more consistent retail presentation.
ProGreenPack controls tub rim diameter, rim formation and matching lid dimensions to achieve a secure and consistent fit. Each tub-and-lid combination is checked for closing tightness, opening performance and unwanted looseness. A properly matched lid helps reduce accidental opening and unnecessary exposure to dust and handling contamination during storage, transport and serving.
ProGreenPack has specialized in food and beverage packaging printing and manufacturing since 1990. Our production base includes 8 dedicated workshops and more than 50 production machines, supported by 8-color flexographic printing, cup-making, high-speed bag-making and box-making equipment. An in-house team covering graphic design, printing and color calibration supports custom artwork and color matching, while integrated printing, forming and packing capabilities help maintain consistent quality throughout production.
See how different ice cream packaging requirements can be solved through coordinated tub structure, printing, lid matching and production control.
An ice cream brand needed several flavor designs while keeping the overall packaging recognizable as one product family. ProGreenPack coordinated the tub size, artwork layout, Pantone/CMYK color matching and full-surface printing across the range. Printing registration and color consistency were controlled during production, allowing each flavor to retain its own visual identity while maintaining consistent logo placement, brand colors and overall shelf presentation.
An ice cream packaging project required the tub and lid to close securely without becoming too loose or difficult to open. ProGreenPack matched the rim diameter, rim profile and lid structure together, then checked samples for fit and closing performance before production. The final tub-and-lid combination provided more consistent opening and closing while reducing the risk of loose lids, helping simplify filling, frozen storage and finished-product handling.

Choose the tub size according to your actual filling volume, serving format and sales channel. Smaller 4–8 oz ice cream tubs are commonly used for individual servings and desserts with toppings, while 16 oz formats work well for retail pints and larger sizes suit family or bulk packaging. Do not compare capacity alone. Check the top diameter, bottom diameter, height and actual usable volume before confirming a size, especially when existing lids or filling equipment are involved.
Paper ice cream tubs are a good option when printable branding, a paper-based appearance and different barrier coating choices are important. PP ice cream tubs offer a molded, seamless structure with strong moisture resistance and dimensional stability. Your choice should depend on filling conditions, freezer storage, desired appearance, lid system, sustainability requirements and target market. For a new project, compare actual samples under your own filling and storage conditions before deciding between paper and PP.
The right coating depends on both performance requirements and your target market. PE coating is widely used for moisture resistance and reliable food packaging performance. PLA coating is plant-based and can support industrial compostability requirements under appropriate conditions. Water-based coatings are an alternative where reducing conventional plastic layers is a priority. ProGreenPack offers PE, PLA and water-based coating options, so the structure can be selected according to freezer performance, sustainability goals and local packaging requirements.
Do not select an ice cream tub lid by capacity alone. Two tubs with the same nominal volume can have different rim diameters and profiles. Confirm the top diameter, rim formation and lid structure together, then test the actual tub-and-lid combination before mass production. A suitable fit should close securely without excessive force or obvious looseness. If you already have a lid, send its dimensions or a physical sample so the matching tub can be checked against it.
They can be, provided the paperboard, coating, side seam and bottom sealing are designed for frozen-food use. The barrier coating helps limit moisture from reaching the paper fibers, while proper forming helps the tub maintain its structure during storage. Before placing a bulk order, confirm the coating type, intended storage temperature and expected storage period, and test filled samples under your actual freezer conditions rather than assuming every paper food container will perform the same way.
